Social networking

The first thing I do when I wake up every morning is reach for my phone and check my Facebook and twitter. I'm one of the social networking addicts as labeled by the people who pretend to be out of this "loop". What people don't realize is that social networking is not only for teenage girls who post 15 selfies a day. Believe it or not, it has other functions too; useful ones to be precise. I live 1000's miles away from home. Sometimes facebook is the only way I see the smiling faces of my loved ones. No wonder that is my go to place before I get out of my bed and take a trip to the coffee pot. You wouldn't believe how many friends I have reconnected with via social networking from all over the world; all the ones that I grew up with, the ones with whom I learned my A, B, C's. It's a great feeling! Sometimes, it's easier to reach out to people via this so - called bad culture as opposed to emails because of the easy access and popularity it has ...

You know you're from Nepal when:

You know you are from Nepal when: 1.        You refer to 11 and 12 class as college as opposed to high school. 2.        Your favorite thing to eat when you go out is MoMo. 3.        Saree is the best attire on a girl. 4.        You love nepali radio over nepali television anyday. 5.        You go to a wedding and all you hear is “you’re next” 6.        Every friend’s moms and dads are uncles and aunties. 7.        Your favorite band is 1974 ad. 8.        You know the #Rhythmbrothers. 9.        You have to whisper under the blanket for late night phone calls. 10.    You don’t have a curfew, you just can’t go out as much. 11.    When you are abroad and the first answer to mom’s “N...

I'm Alive

You wake up every morning, you get out of bed and jump back in to the sea of monotonous waves; at least that is what i do. It is pretty hard to appreciate anything when all you do is do the same things over and over but life has its own mysterious ways of making you special, whether you feel it or not. Never had i ever thought i would appreciate a 2 degree weather in my life but having lived in the negative twenties the past few days turned my misery to a new celebration, almost a holiday. It made me think about all the other times i bitched and moaned about how bitter my life was but in reality, that is what life did to me to make me a unique me. Fortunate are those who don't have everything but see every possibility in what little they have. Not all people are vested with such amazing conscience. Sometimes, it is a necessity to develop such a quality, to raise your head and your glass at life. First world problems might just be limited to someone un-friending you on Facebook, o...

makes you stronger

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger; so true yet so false. I play with this thought way more than its considered normal. Life happens in everyone's life and not two people react to an incident the same way. It is only ideal to learn from your mistakes and carry on, trying not to make any of those mistakes but how many of us do it? Its one of those things that is so easy to preach but excruciatingly hard to practice. The truth is that the thought might not even apply to all situations. Sometimes things go wrong even if you have given your all and have tried hard to come with perfect results. You cry and moan and look for the spot where you made the doo doo so that you can fix it but you have to understand that ITS NOT ALWAYS YOUR FAULT. All I can say from my personal experience is screaming and crying and just laying there taking up space without doing anything does help soothe for the time being but in the long run, you gotta take charge and spit in the face of time. You g...

regrets

I am naturally a very happy person who just sees joys a midst random things. I won't be lying if i say i am the most easily amused person you will ever see. I tend to carry bags of laughter and burn bridges of bad memories. Most of the things i have done in life have done nothing but brought joys to me sooner or later. There might be millions of my clones walking around, trying to find the best in the worse, trying to scatter smiles in the tears but deep down all of us have certain regrets. Some have one, others have more but the beauty lies in not clinging to one wrong doing but moving on and making sure it won't happen again.  The biggest regret of my life is missing out on saying a very major good bye to a friend who caught a flight to the rainbows. I don't know if i was too late or he left too early but the damage was done and i was to never see him again. Its one of those pages that you flip every night before you go to bed. You fall in the world of what ifs and why...

Reality check !!!

The world is most certainly filled with a variety of people. Some worry about the world, some worry about what others think about them while some are just too stuck up on themselves, that they prefer to be called superior or at least depict that way. An incident caught me recently, when i was listening to Nepali singer, raised in Canada come up with a great Nepali song that was highly appreciated by a lot of Nepali people. The song was called "sabai thikai huncha" which means "everything will be alright". Now. i agree that if a person cannot take criticism, he/she should never go public but this person was deliberately rude and harsh in his comments and i couldn't help but comment on how rude he was and that it was a s*&% thing to do. In return i got called a W#$%^. Now dear Mr. Stuck UP A$$ hole i think you need a reality check! I certainly think it is stupid of you to think that calling me names will change my views towards you being an arrogant jerk. I wo...
